Welcome to the Images of the City online discussions and activities that follow on from your live event workshops.

My name is Daniel, I am your online tutor.

Over the next three weeks you will be able to:

• share your thoughts on the work produced in all six workshops
• explore how the work relates directly to the city
• create new artwork based on the styles of famous artists.

The first discussion board, Hundertwasser's Art is opened on the day of the workshops. The remaining discussion boards will be opened one at a time on the Tuesday in the following two weeks.

When a discussion board is opened, you can click on the link on the top of the page. I will be looking at your responses and answering your questions twice a week, so keep checking back.

Hundertwasser's Art

  

Friednsreich Hundertwasser is a well-known Austrian Artist.

A lot of his paintings feature images of the City. He has also worked on designs for murals and paintings on the side of buildings.

In this discussion we will be:

• looking more closely at Hundertwasser's paintings
• exploring how he designs the work he puts onto buildings
• making some new work and uploading it to the discussion board for everyone to see.

• thinking about how different people see and experience the City.

Cities and the Olympics

This discussion will be available from Monday 20th June.

You may have heard in the news that London is one of five cities competing to hold the 2012 Olympic Games. You may even have seen some of the adverts on TV and on billboards.

In this discussion we will be:

• looking at how graphic designers and artists have used images of the City in advertising
• designing your own poster advertising the City.
