What does the City mean?
During the workshop and online discussions you would have thought about what the City means to you.
Go to the photo Gallery to see all the work from the event workshops.
Discussion 1 – The City and the Artist
Pick one piece of work from the Gallery other than your own.
Explain what you think the City means to the artist who made it.
Discussion 2 – The City and You
Sometimes when you look at a piece of artwork it seems to tell a story.
- What story does the picture you chose tell?
- How is it different from your story?
Discussion task for all
Would someone making the same journey through the City as you see the same things?
Discussion 3 – Your own artwork telling another person's story
Pick one of the people from the list below:
- a homeless person
- a person who works in the City
- a tourist
- a resident of London.
Things to think about:
- What parts of the City do you think are important to the person you have chosen?
- As they travel through and around the City, what type of experiences do they have?
You may want to:
- make a drawing of how this person would see the City
- think about how you could draw your artwork - are the lines neat and tidy, or thick and messy?
- pick different colours that make you think of different emotions and use these in your picture to create different moods.
Remember to give your work a title. Scan it, or take a digital photo of it, and then upload it onto the discussion board.
